The Joy of Harvesting in Microgreens

There’s something incredibly rewarding about harvesting your own food — especially when it’s as simple and satisfying as microgreens. In just a couple of weeks, you can go from sowing seeds to snipping fresh, flavorful greens that you grew with your own hands.

What Makes Harvesting Microgreens So Special?

Quick Rewards: Ready to harvest in 7–14 days. Low Effort, Big Results: No large garden or tools needed. Connection to Nature: A peaceful daily routine. Fresh Flavor Taste the difference in every bite.

  • Hold the greens gently from the top.

  • Use clean, sharp scissors or a knife.

  • Cut just above the soil don’t pull or yank.

  • Rinse lightly and pat dry

  • That first snip is always satisfying

  • Watching your tray go from seed to salad is empowering

Avoid overwatering the day before harvesting it helps keep the greens dry and clean. Use sterile tools to prevent contamination. Only harvest what you need to keep the rest fresh longer

Regrowth?

  • Some varieties like pea shoots or wheatgrass may regrow if harvested gently. Others are one-time harvests, so replant regularly for a continuous supply! The joy of harvesting microgreens isn’t just about food  it’s about mindfulness, health, and a daily connection to growth

Most microgreens are ready when they’re 1–3 inches tall

  • Look for the first set of true leaves

  • Harvest in the morning for peak freshness and flavor
